Born in Albany, Minnesota, Joel Gretsch started his acting career at Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. He later relocated to Los Angeles in 1989 and appeared in a lot of television shows in the 90’s including Melrose Place, Saved By the Bell: The College Years, Married With Children, JAG, and Silk Stockings to name a few. He has appeared in a slew of films in supporting roles such as National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Minority Report, The Legend of Bagger Vance, and most recently, Push. In 1999, Gretsch married the daughter of William Shatner, Melanie, and the two have two daughters together. Gretsch is most known for his stint on the USA sci-fi drama, The 4400, where he starred as Tom Baldwin for the show’s entire run. He also took part in the SyFy Channel’s epic miniseries, Taken, as Owen Crawford. Gretsch can currently be seen on ABC’s remake of V, the cult alien invasion series that aired in the 1980s, as Father Jack Landry. Gretsch’s other credits include Journeyman, The United States of Tara, and The Women’s Murder Club. Father Jack Landry is a man of faith, but he doesn’t have faith when the Visitors land on Earth speaking of peace and prosperity. Landry is quick to smell something amiss with The Visitors message of unity and decides to investigate with the help of FBI Agent Erica Evans. What they find will be a true testament to Father Landry’s faith than he could have ever imagined.
