Canadian born actress, Laura Vandervoort is not new to the sci-fi genre. During the seventh season of Smallville, Vandervoort donned the role of Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, for thirteen episodes and one episode of Season Eight as well as guest stints on The Dresden Files and Mutant X. But Vandervoort’s acting career didn’t start with being the cousin of Superman. Vandervoort has appeared in several children/teen-oriented programs with guest stints in “Goosebumps”, “Falcon Beach”, and “Are You Afraid of The Dark?”. Other guest roles include CSI, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, and Doc. Besides her notable role as Supergirl on Smallville, Vanderoort also is recognized as Sadie Harrison on the CTV/The N drama, Instant Star.Along with her television career, Vandervoort also has a handful of films under her belt. She recently co-starred in the 2009 direct-to-DVD feature, Into The Blue 2: The Reef, which is a sequel to the Jessica Alba and Paul Walker 2005 film, Into The Blue. Other films include The Lookout, The Jazzman, and Damage.Currently, Laura Vandervoot can be seen on the new ABC sci-fi drama, V, which centers on an alien invasion. Vandervoort plays Lisa, one of the aliens that grab the attention of Tyler Evans, a teenager who is rebelling against his mother.‘Sweet’ and ‘the girl next door’ are two descriptions that can be used to describe Lisa, the Visitor who has captured the eyes and heart of Tyler Evans.
